Orange Shirt Day is a National Day of Remembrance for Boarding Schools. This annual event occurs on September 30. It is a day to remember and honor the Indigenous children sent to boarding schools and raise awareness about the ongoing impact. Anybody can participate in Orange Shirt Day by simply wearing an orange shirt. This gesture shows acknowledgment of this important day. Orange Shirt Day is an essential step in the healing process for Native American communities.
